Mahila College Dalmianagar situated on the bank of “Holy River Sone”, “Dehri-Dalmianagar town is the connecting line of Indian Railways from national capital “Delhi” to the historical and traditional culture of India, right from villages rural society to symbolic flavour of the nation depicting enormous traits of Indians. In the evident period around 1940, Dalmianagar industrial development flourished prominently with variety of sections uplifting the town as well as its economy. The verse truly goes that a nation only rises, if the people and society holds an intellectual level and a developed educational environment. Thus, for the same progressive purpose, Rohtas District on the demands of nearby developed minds and education lovers, soon aims on setting high standards for its people with strong emphasis particularly on “women education and upliftment” In the year 1965, first attempt by the institution was made to serve the society as “Night Tutorial Mahila College” in the industrial sector of “ Dalmianagar” like any other academic institution the college faced initial difficulties in the ongoing with classes scheduled in the evening from “04:45 PM to 09:00 PM” with continuous efforts and strong will fewer, the college kept its development and momentum undisturbed. On 26th January 1977 the prominent name of “Mahila College” came into existence and since then, the institution serves the society and its people with best possible standards of intellect as well as upliftments for the students on a wider scale.

With the college faculties, sincere efforts and huge amount of responsibilities, on 9th June 1981, the Bihar government under Magadh University included the college with the recognisation of B.A Pass course at the state level. Mrs. Satya Shahi with her guidance and leadership during the period further widened the academic level of the college as well as made it the voice of the town in the context of education. In the current scenario the institute includes Hindi, English, Political Science, Economics, History, Psychology, Philosophy,Sanskrit, Mathematics, Bangla and Home Science as subjects for education that are well recognized and appreciated taking the college towards new heights of academics and development all over. Rapidly growing at a faster pace of the 21st century academics, regulations, administration, progress and co-ordination in the campus of the college catches the eye of people and students with sincere appreciation. In the overall development the college secretaries Mr. Atul Kumar Jain, Ranjeet Bahadur Singh, Khalid Anwar Ansari roles are appreciable too.

After being run for a long duration in Dalmianagar, the college new co-ordinates and serves in the main town of “Dehri-On-Sone” undergoing difficulties and being carried on rent basis, the college managed to continue its academic standards and under Vice Chancellor Dr. I.C. Kumar, now the college avails its own land for the purpose after serving the society for almost five decades in a row, this is a remarkable achievement in the pages of college history starting under, inchargeship of Principal, Dr. Bikrama Singh, the college development is progressively being led by Dr. Ashok Kumar Singh, the present principal. The boundary of the college along with the main gate was taken forward with the support of Bihar legislative Assembly member, Mr. Pradeep Kumar Joshi.

Sharp intellect leadership of the present principal is randomly and quickly leading the

college to achieve high goals of academics as well as developments in various fields and rankings with prominent colleges of the state. For the future of the college as well as students, proper co-ordination of the people and upcoming ideas and awareness will

undoubtedly fetch the growth rate of the city as well as society. The institute now runs its own classes and M.A classes for subjects like Political Science, History, Psychology,

Economics soon amended agendas to be passed on by the university in the coming days.Courses like Business studies, B.B.A, B.C.A, Fashion Designing are verbally assured fields to be added to the curriculum of the college and are on the last stage of the finalization. The college is continuously working towards science and commerce classes of high standards for the students.

The surrounding environment and area of the college is well suited for students with fresh and pure air around and beautifully and colorfully decorated plantation and garden the colour of Indian soil and culture can be well witnessed and felt around the college which is located just near the popular Jharkhandi Temple adding to the mental and traditional development for students which is unfortunately disappearing in the upcoming generation. It”s a pride for the institution and its members that “Mahila College Dalmianagar” is one of few colleges of Veer Kunwar Singh University which has been selected to be develop as “Model degree college” under the privileged scheme of RUSA for future development and further up gradation.College has gone through Ist Assessment process and Accredited with Grade “B” (CGPA 2.21) by NAAC on 25.05.2016. It is milestone in the history of this college. Now we are committed to implement the recommendations of NAAC Peer Team effectively for making this institution a better place to grow in future.
